Inappropriate Behavior on DA
It's kind of disturbing how the DeviantArt sphere has normalized a lot of questionable behavior, especially among neurodivergent people in the community. How many times, as an artist, have you had someone asking you to draw fetish art for them? No offer to pay you for your time and work. An unprompted demand that just boils down to, "draw this thing for me". How many times have you come across an account, where it's a bunch of fetish art involving underaged characters? And not necessarily SFW stuff like inflation or vore either. I'm talking about the kind of disgusting stuff that makes you block on sight.
And how many times have you seen these people interact with minors in inappropriate ways?
And again, while I feel a lot of you probably don't have the courage to say it outright, these problems are most frequent amongst neurodivergent people. And I'm saying that as a neurodivergent person myself. Autistic people have trouble understanding boundaries, easily normalize behavior they grow up with, and have trouble self-reflecting. Because change is a difficult thing for a lot of autistic people to deal with.
Nobody is telling these people that this stuff isn't okay and that they need to think about how they behave online, and I feel a lot of us hold the blame for allowing this kind of stuff to persist. DeviantArt may have gone downhill as an art platform, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't encourage people to do better.
And, to clarify, I am not asking you to harass someone when you see something questionable. Send them a message and calmly explain what you think they're doing is wrong, or report them and move on. But please don't let these kinds of things be normalized within the community.
DeviantArt holds the reputation it has for a reason. And while that isn't going to change any time soon, that doesn't mean we shouldn't encourage change.

Making a Horror Game!
Starting off the new year with a special announcement:
I'm going to be the lead game designer on a PS1 style horror game, which I'll be co-developing with @Trial_by_Fir3
I will be providing the story, writing, music and concept art. With modeling and programming by Aaron.
It's still in very early development, so we don't have anything to share just yet. But it's definitely something we will be publishing under our @BloodyVulpine label. So keep an eye out!
